For Transient Boaters

Photo Gallery

Rockland is a gateway to many great cruising destinations in the Penobscot Bay area. Transient vessels often use the port as a stop between Boothbay and the Mt. Desert Island area. Rockland has been transformed from a busy commercial town to a more balanced commercial and recreational location; featuring museums, galleries, restaurants and summer festivals. The Farnsworth Art Museum and Owls Head Transportation Museum provide something interesting for all ages. The North Atlantic Blues Festival and Rockland Lobster Festival are very popular for boaters, so plan ahead for your slip reservations. Journey's End Marina is tucked in behind the Coast Guard Station in the center of the harbor with an easy, deep water approach. Main street shops and attractions are just a short walk up Tillson Avenue.
